CHRISTMAS IS COMING

I am posting this news item from Margie Amos again as we all believe that one of the goals of the Plymouth Club is to help those less fortunate than us whenever we can. If possible, join us in making this Christams more joyous for this 19 year old mother and her 2 year old daughter.

Hello to all members. Christmas is fast approaching and our club will again be participating in the Orangewood Childrens Foundation Christmas Drive. This year we have opted to Adopt-A-Family. I have been in contact with OCF and they have given us a wish list for a 19 year old emanicpated foster youth and her 2 year old daughter. They are in an apartment and have beds but are in need of basic items. Below is the wish list. Also gift cards to Target or Walmart or any grocery store cards would help to meet the monthly budget and allow the opportunity to pick things out on their own. If you wish to participate, items must be delivered to myself or Nick by Thanksgiving weekend as we need to get the items to OCF by Dec. 4 which is well before our annual Christmas party on the 19th. You can bring items to our annual meet next week for those up north or to the Oct. or Nov. meets. Gift cards travel well by mail. Any gaps in items on the list will be filled by the club as members in attendence at the last meeting voted to allot a budget for donations to this worthy cause. Any items outside the wish list can be donated to the regular general OCF drive.

WISH LIST
KITCHEN: towels/potholders, dinnerware, flatware, glasses, pots/pans, trashcans/bags, measuring cups, storage container, table/chairs.
HOUSEHOLD: vacuum, lamps, ironing board/iron, alarm clocks, blankets/sheets, microwave, toilet brushes, broom/mop/dustpan, sofa/chair.
MISC: computer/laptop, cd player, dvd player, gift cards.
CHILD SPECIFIC ITEMS: stroler, diapers, toys, clothes.

On another note I have mailed out letters to the shop instructors at 39 different school districts to hopefully drum up some interest in the scholarship.
