Lake Havasu TourMarch 17, 2008by Tony Cipponeri, Back in January, Darrell Harris told me that we should try to get together with our new brothers and sisters in The Grand Canyon Region. April 15th was the day that Frank Johnson, of The grand Canyon Region, and I decided would be the meeting day. The meeting took place at the Bikini Cafe, at The Island Inn Hotel, in Lake Havasu Arizona. We all met for dinner at 6:00 PM, the highlight of our meeting was Darrell Harris Trying to eat a 20 ounce hambuger with a big bowl of fries in twenty minutes, if he did he would get it for free. It was a great evening meeting everyone from Arizona, with one suprise it turned out that we had three Regions represented. Richard and Carol Tetzlaff, of The Tall Pines Region, belong to both regions, they winter in Arizona and summer in Minnisota. The food was great and the company even better. I also got to meet Ernie and Diane Baily, from Simi Valley Ca. for the first time. We sat around and talked into the evening, I am sure that we all had a great time. Oh yeah by the way Darrell didn't quite finish his hambuger, at all. The next morning we all met for Breakfast, and then we headed for the dock at The English Village, right next to The London Bridge. For a one hour boat ride on the Dixie Belle paddle wheeler around the island. It was on the chilly side but we all had fun. Members and guests in attendance were, Richard and Carol Tetzlaff, Frank and Ruth Johnson, Roger and Susan Gunderson, Liz and Nick Choukalas, Harold and Kay Norton, Darrell Harris, Bob Davis, Dennis Wichmann, Ernie and Diane Baily, Del and Merita Dysart, Roger and Donna Chrislip, Tony and Karen Cipponeri. | |||||||||||
