SoCal Febuary MeetingFebruary 4, 2008by Tony Cipponeri, Tom and Jan Redd hosted our Febuary meeting. We met at their house, in Whittier. A nice suprise was waiting for us there. Tom's friend John Manifor had showed up with his 1929 Cadillac roadster, and it was very nice indeed. After checking out John's car Tom opened his garage, so that we could drool over his 1958 Plymouth with a Hemi in it. Tom said that he will be driving it soon. We than traveled to Phil Reed's Garage, to see his collection. Phil is a car guy through and through. Phil's collection is all quality cars, I liked the 1929 Stutz Roadster the best. Phil has been into everything from quarter midgets, that his son drove to owning the winning car at Denvers annual midget race, beating out Kasey Kahn, of NASCAR fame. Phill drives his cars, he will be driving an orginal Model T from Baltimore Maryland to California this summer. We returned to Tom and Jan's house, and had a great lunch. Jan's cookies are the best. We had a short meeting during lunch. Margie Amos gave us her treasures report we have $3299.00 in the bank. We are looking for Students to apply for our two scholarship funds. Richard Butler needs everyone to consider doing an article for or news letter, if we are going to have a news letter we need to supply him with material to put in it. Members and guests in attendance were, Rodger Morris, Uriel Covarrobias, Darrill Harris, Tom and Jan Reed, Nick DeSimone, Roger Chrislip, Neal Olson, John Manifor, Bob Davis, Tony Cipponeri, Del Dysart, Bob and Margie Amos, Larry LaBrack and Iris Ann DeCelles, Bruce Lufgren. | |||||||||||
