We Three Men

November 24, 2006
by Margie Amos,

(TUNE; WE THREE KINGS, J. H. HOPKINS)

We three men with our Plymouths are,
Bearing parts to fix our car,
Squeaking, shaking, creaking, breaking,
Fixing you up to par.

(Refrain)

Oh-h Car I wonder if I might,
Have the parts to fix you right,
Wrench and socket in our pocket,
Guide me to fix you right.

Oil I keep in your back boot,
Tell tale signs I cannot refute,
Your smoke and slicks they make me sick,
Plaguing me with your soot.

(Refrain)

Chrome you need to shine again,
Pits and rust are an awful stain,
Scraping, scrubbing, plating, rubbing,
Home to the garage to reign.

(Refrain)

Gas runs through you like a sieve,
To fill you up I have some misgives,
Prices rising not surprising,
Need “Carbs are Us” to live.

(Refrain)

Belt and hoses are cracked and worn,
Replacing them all leaves me forlorn,
Tires are bald, engine stalled
Sounds like an old fog horn.

(Refrain)
